Was that blog title too forward? Yes? Sorry... us technology brownies aren't known for being demure and tactful. Loud and boisterous is more our style, especially when it comes to something exciting.
Here is some super cool news that Cherie has asked me to share with all of you. Beginning in September of 2012, she is offering another way for you to earn free art!
Here are the details: whenever she releases a new piece of artwork (that is not a "Fan"tastical Fantasy Art piece), post it on your Facebook Wall to share with your friends. Remember to tag it with Mystic Moon Media so we know you shared it and your name will be entered into a drawing to win a free 5x7 print of the image. Easy, right?
Also, she is working on a doozy of a contest for this autumn. Only 100 fans will be able to enter, so your chances of winning are pretty darn great. And it sounds like it'll be easy to enter and pretty fun, too!

After All This Time? Always...
Cherie and I cannot be the only ones who are having Harry Potter withdrawals, can we? Sure, we could talk about The Hunger Games DVD release or the upcoming final installation of the Twilight Saga movies or even about The Hobbit being made into 3 movies, but it seems that lately all conversations circle back to the boy who lived.
In order to stifle the feelings of loss, we've been re-reading the novels, doing a lot of Harry Potter Etsy searches, and watching episodes of Potter Puppet Pals. Join us on our stroll down memory lane.

Calliope and Floyd - "Fan"tasical Fantasy Art
When walking through the meadow near her home, Cherie and her daughter discovered a colony of mischievous little tree sprites. Little did they know that the tricksters could be so big-hearted...
Magical spaces, just as in the ordinary world, can be full of sadness and during a meadow walk, Cherie came upon an orphaned pair of hummingbird eggs. A neighborhood cat, acting as animals do, killed and ate the poor bird, leaving the eggs to be unattended.
Luckily, the tree sprites eagerly volunteered to take over parenting duties. They created a new, cozier nest for them and kept a constant guard over the eggs. Cherie provided them with little knit hats to keep warm during the chilly weather and constructed an overhang to make sure no one got soaked.
Once the hummingbirds were born, the tree sprites built boobie traps around their tree to protect their "ugly babies" as they called them. And some very generous chickadees volunteered to help feed the little ones. All the meadow inhabitants were excited about the fragile life that survived.
Just as like any new parent, the tree sprites were very proud with each milestone the hummingbirds reached. From nest building to learning how to eat from flowers, the sprites took special care of their babies. They even went as far as to relocate their whole colony to a new tree in the meadow so the hummingbirds could have an enchanted home with them. Now the whole family can live together year-round.
After a vote, the "ugly babies" were renamed Calliope and Floyd and were presented with tiny flower crowns as they made their transition from helpless creatures to full-fledged adults.
Cherie and her daughter still make their way to the meadow to visit Calliope, Floyd, and their family on a regular basis. Now the tree sprites are talking about adopting again....

This piece of art is part of Mystic Moon Media's "Fan"tasical Fantasy Art collection. Each month a mythological story is introduced on our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Whenever someone participates in the storyline, they are helping to steer the direction of that month's art piece.
At the end of the month, the final artwork is revealed and one lucky person who commented on the story receives a free "Fan"tastical print.
We hope you'll join us on our next adventure!

Places to go, People to see
Summer is here and for many people that means VACATION!
Now we know that you'll all be coming to visit Cherie at the Bristol Renaissance Faire at least once this summer, but what about during the week when you are craving for a vacation fantasy fix and the weekend is nowhere in sight? We've got you covered.
Close to home: Wizard Quest - Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
Located in downtown Dells, Wizard Quest is an interactive computer game that has you searching the fantasy realms for imprisoned wizards. Havoc, the bad guy, has hidden them and won't let you release the wizards until you have gathered enough "glimmers", which are points, by answering various questions about the fantasy creatures you encounter. You have a 90 minute time limit before the wizards are trapped forever!
This place is fabulous for kids and adults alike. There are slides, mirror mazes, amazing fantasy art displays, and more. Story lines and displays are changed every so often, which makes this a repeatable destination. This is one of my most favorite places in the Dells - makes a brownie feel right at home!
More information can be found at: http://www.wizardquest.net/
Road trip worthy: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida
This amusement park is chock-full of Harry Potter goodness! Whether you want to purchase a wand, chug a butterbeer, or send an "owl" to your friends back home, you will be able to live out your wizarding fantasies with other magical folks.
Besides riding hippogriff and dragon-themed roller coasters, you can stop in at Honeyduke's for sweets, partake in an English luncheon at The Three Broomsticks, load up on gag items in Zonko's, and pop over to Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods for the latest Quidditch accessories.

World travel: Efteling, The Netherlands
Said to be a source of inspiration for Walt Disney, Efteling is a European treasure. There is a hedge maze filled with secret surprises, a forest inhabited by fairytale creatures , live shows, rides, shopping, and more. It seems like a great mix of Six Flags Great America and the Disney Parks. I cannot possibly do it justice by my descriptions, so take a peek at these clips.

Magical travels and be sure to bring Cherie a souvenir from your adventures!
