Must See Web TV: Written By A Kid

Out of all the stages in life, I'd have to say that our "kid" phase is when we are the most imaginative and creative. The fine folks at Geek and Sundry, a Youtube channel which features a plethora of shows for geeks and nerds, have come up with a very simple, yet totally hilarious concept that you are sure to enjoy.

Written By A Kid is pretty much that - short stories that kids tell to a pair of hosts. Usually 3 to 5 minutes in length, the stories are then acted out by some well-known and not-so-well-known folks. The two episodes that have been released so far are funny and a visual treat.

Still not sure you'd like them? 4 words for you then: Joss Whedon, episode one.

If you enjoyed these, be sure to check out the behind-the-scenes and casting videos, too.

Artists you should know - The Frouds

You may not be familiar with the name Brian or Wendy Froud, but their work is instantly recognizable by fantasy aficionados and children of the 80s.

\

Brian is an English fantasy artist who has been creating beautiful images of fairies, goblins, and other creatures for decades, even collaborating with Jim Henson Studios on a number of projects. During one of these Henson collaborations Brian met his future wife, Wendy. She is an accomplished artist in her own right whose dolls and puppets have been featured in some of the greatest movies known to geekdom. It should come as no surprise that their son, Toby, has followed in his parents' footsteps creating incredibly life-life art of his own. Fun fact: Toby Froud played the part of baby Toby in the movie, "The Labyrinth."

The Froud's work has inspired and delighted countless individuals, including one Ms. Gerhardt. To find more examples of their art and information on their upcoming book release, visit World of Froud
